We really are here!

So, it's been forever since I've last posted! We have been so busy, between school finishing in June, going on a family trip to Chicago, going on our annual trip to Tennessee and then the beach, getting through our second training camp (with another visit to TN and NC!), starting school, and the football season starting. We'll see if I get around to posting pictures from all of those adventures. I'll try, but there are no guarantees! Instead I'll just start from the most recent things we've done.

Between the preseason ending and the regular season beginning, Jeremiah got a day or two off. We had a great time spending time together as a family. On one afternoon, we drove up to Bay City, Michigan to see Lake Huron. After taking some wrong turns and thinking we were never going to make it to the lake, we ended up finding a really neat "hidden" place! We had a great afternoon and soaked up the time spent together!

Megan is definitely a "Daddy's girl!" She had a great view!

The kids were excited about our adventure.
We followed this path through the grasses and reeds to the edge of Lake Huron. It was beautiful!
We made it to the lake! It was a gorgeous day-bright blue sky, cool temps. Fall in Michigan is great!
Still heading down the path.
We have decided to get a picture with all of our feet in all 5 great lakes while we live up here. So far we've gotten Lake Michigan and now Lake Huron!
Our own "private" hidden beach. The kids had a blast!
Megan liked walking into the water and throwing the sand.
Jeremiah, Ally, and Drew walked way out into the lake. It was very shallow for a long way.
Megan was throwing sand...and getting her pants soaked! She left without pants on!
Looking back toward the lake. The path we took is hidden in the grasses.

We had a wonderful day! We love taking day trips all over and exploring our somewhat new home. Hope to share more adventures soon!

Springtime in Michigan!!

So, I have really been slacking in the blogging department. Instead of going all the way back to December, I thought I'd just start with some recent pictures. I'll try to get back to our winter at some point! We had a fun one, lots of travel, snow, and fun! But, springtime has reached Michigan (although it's gone today, but not for long!).

Last week, we had some beautiful weather! Several days were in the upper 50s/low 60s, which meant we were outside all day long! The kids loved getting out and playing! We're ready for spring to get here and stay!

Drew, Megan, and I went on a "signs of spring" hunt. We found many flowers just popping out of the ground!

Buds in the trees with a beautiful blue sky background

We had to spend a lot of time in our backyard (which has a creek in it). Drew and Megan had fun checking out the creek. Drew even taught Megan how to throw rocks in the water (which she loved!).

Ready to hit the woods!

Can you tell that he is loving the outdoors!?!

Throwing rocks in the creek. I had to hold her hand so she wouldn't end up swimming in the creek!

We went to a local park on another beautiful day. The kids had a blast! Megan learned how to go down the slide for the first time and loved it! She went down this slide countless times!

Drew was having fun doing an obstacle course throughout the playground.

I think Megan will be our "fearless" child. I helped her do the balance beam once, and then she decided that she could do it by herself!

Not much fear in this girl! She thinks she should be able to do anything her big brother and sister can do!

I just loved this picture! Megan sat like this for a long time! I wonder what she's thinking about! You can see Drew's eyes peering out behind her.

Hope you enjoyed our springtime pics. I need to get some of Ally on as well. She was in school during these times. I hope you enjoy your springtime! I'll try to get better at posting more often!

Megan's 1st Birthday-I'm way behind!

I'm way behind on blogging! Sorry! This past month and a half (really, since Thanksgiving) has been a whirlwind of activity! I'll try to update everything that has been going on with our family!

I'll start with Megan's 1st birthday, back on December 8th! She had a fun birthday, although she was teething a lot during that time! Since then, she's gotten 5 teeth! Poor girl! Megan has been such a wonderful little girl. She's changing so much each and every day. She loves to smile and laugh, especially at her brother and sister! She is very loving, giving hugs and kisses without even asking for them. We were so blessed to have such an "easy" third baby! Of course, she's not much of a baby anymore. She's on the go, walking a little (when she wants!). She is ready to keep up with Ally and Drew!

On Megan's actual birthday-we waited to have her party until that Friday so Daddy, Nana, and Luke could celebrate with us!

I made her homemade blueberry muffins for breakfast on her actual birthday (with a candle in it). She loved it! Drew loved singing "Happy Birthday" to her and then blowing out her candle for her.

Nana and Luke flew in on Friday afternoon. Luke surprised Drew by coming, and Nana came to watch Megan and Drew while Ally and I went to Baltimore (another post). We had Megan's "party" that night. We had pizza and cake-you don't need much for a 1st birthday!

Ally, Drew, and Luke had fun helping Megan open all of her presents. Megan finally caught on near the end. It was a good warm-up for Christmas 2 weeks later!

Megan's 1st birthday cake. She loves ducks (and I didn't have much time), so we just threw this together at the last minute. It was tasty and a hit for her!

She liked seeing the candle (and hearing us sing). Ally helped her blow it out.

You mean I get to have this cake all to myself!?! Yea! **We didn't know how much she would love the cake until later!

Forget the hands...putting your face in the cake to eat it is the best technique!

Her second technique-holding the cake and chomping it!

Drew and Luke loved watching Megan make a mess of herself with the cake! They had a great weekend together!

Can you believe that I ate almost all of it!?! This is the best day ever!

Megan got a baby doll for her birthday. To say she loves it is an understatement! She loves on her baby and carries it around like a little momma! She will pat the baby on the back and kiss her. It's so sweet to see her being a "big girl." Happy birthday Megan. We love you so much!
