All Aboard!

Last weekend we went to Grapevine and rode on the Grapevine Railroad to Fort Worth.  We had such a good time!  It took about an hour and a half to get there because we had a train robbery on the way!  The kids enjoyed watching the "robbery" out the train window.  They also had fun leaning out the windows to see the sights.

We were waiting for the train to leave the station in Grapevine.  The train was from the 1800s, so the kids enjoyed seeing how people traveled back then.

Drew was SO excited!  He had a grin from ear to ear the whole time!

Our two girls on the train

Drew and Ally thought it was fun to look at each other outside the train.

Yikes!  It's a train robbery!

Even Megan enjoyed watching the scenery go by outside the train.

I thought this was a neat view out the back of the train.

We passed other "working" trains on our ride.  Drew loved that!

Ally took this picture of Jeremiah and me.  She did a good job getting both of us in the frame-barely!

We were in the last car on the train.  There is the rest of the train in front of us.

When we got to Fort Worth, we had a little bit of time to explore the Stockyards.  Drew picked out a souvenir (some little trains) while Ally opted for some ice cream for her treat (that's my girl!).  We also got to watch the cattle drive down the main road and then a "wild west shootout" in the train station before boarding the train again.
Ally and Drew were standing in front of the stop sign that kept the traffic from coming down the road during the cattle drive.
Here come the longhorns!

Drew was watching the wild west show.  It sure is nice to have such a tall daddy!

Megan is such a good baby!  She always seems to go with the flow!

We got to sit in the outdoor car on the ride back to Grapevine.  The kids enjoyed being able to have such a great view.

We were all tired on the way back, especially Drew.  He almost fell asleep except we were playing a game trying to get cars to honk at the train at every crossing.
This picture says it all.  We had such a fun adventure with our family last Saturday!

Ally's 1st Grade Awards

Ally had her 1st grade awards day today at Rogers Elementary.  Drew, Megan, and I went to see her get her award.  Ally has had a great year in 1st grade.  She received the Citizenship Award for her class, Rogers Runners award, and the Six Flags Reading award.  We were so proud that she was recognized for being a caring friend!  It's hard to believe that Ally will be going into 2nd grade next year!  Where has the time gone!?!

Here is a video of Ally receiving her award.  She does not like being the center of attention

Ally and her teacher Mrs. Shade-We have felt so blessed that she was in Mrs. Shade's class this year.  She has come a long way!

Ally and her proud mom

Megan was proud of her big sister!

Drew was not wanting to take a picture.  He had fun cheering for Ally during the ceremony though!

Ally with one of her best friends, Katie.  She and Katie were in the same class this year.

Ally with one of her other best friends, Kate.  She and Kate were in the same kindergarten class.  They had fun going to GA's together this year.

Ally was showing off her Citizenship certificate.

Drew and his best friend Matthew (Katie's little brother).  They are hilarious when they get together!  There is a lot of "Monkey see, monkey do" with those two boys!

Texas Springtime

We have been enjoying the beautiful spring weather here in Texas lately.  We had several weeks of rain and cloudy days, but lately the temperatures have been great, and the sun has been bright!  We are trying to enjoy being outside as much as possible, especially before moving to Michigan!  I hope you enjoy some of our pictures from our very green yard (which has greatly benefited from all of the rain!).

Drew and Megan simply adore each other!

Drew loves making Megan laugh, and Megan loves watching and laughing at her big brother!

It's hard to believe that Megan is already over 5 months old!  Her personality is really starting to come out.  She's such a sweet, funny baby!

Megan loves to stand!  She's been doing this for over a month.  She's pretty good if she's holding onto something.  She wants to catch up to her big brother and big sister!

Drew was doing "tricks" in the backyard.

Our 3 beautiful children.  Jeremiah and I are so blessed!

Megan thinks her big sister is the absolute best!  Ally can always get a smile out of Megan.  Ally still can't get enough of her little sister!

Ally and Drew have had many hours of fun on this swing set in our backyard over the past 4 years!  We hope you are enjoying some spring weather too!

Coach Drew

So, in case you haven't heard, Jeremiah got a new job!  He's now the assistant offensive line coach for the Detroit Lions!  We are all so proud of him!  Of course with this new job comes a big move!  The kids are getting excited about moving to Michigan.  It will definitely be a BIG change...going from 100 degree summer heat for months at a time to 0 degree cold for months at a time.  We're all looking forward to this new adventure for our family!

This past week, Megan and I flew to Michigan with Jeremiah to house hunt.  Nana came and stayed with Ally and Drew while we were gone.  I got Drew and Ally some new Lions gear to get them in the spirit of our new team!  Drew was so excited about his new hat.  The funny thing is that Nana had gotten him a new "coaching" whistle while we were gone.  He immediately put on his new hat and wore his whistle.  He then told us that he is a football coach too, "just like Daddy!"  This will be a fun new chapter for us!

Drew has his coaching whistle and coaching hat.  He's ready for football season!
Lucky for us (and our neighbors), Drew really knows how to blow that whistle...loudly!
This is Drew's "coaching stance."
This was just too cute not to put on.  Drew will definitely teach Megan all he knows about football.  They will be two of the biggest Lions' fans this year (along with Ally and me!)!
